This Week: Cereal Bars

You need a fast power supply for your daily practice or a sweet and tasty snack during the day, but you don´t find anything that fits to your diet plan? Then try this fantastic recipe for home made cereal bars!

What you need:

200g/ 7 oz oats
100g/ 3.5 oz oat flakes
100g/ 3.5 oz hazel nuts or almonds
50g/ 1.75 sunflower seed
30g/ 1 oz desiccated coconut
50g/ 1.75 margarine or (peanut) butter
150g/ 5.3 oz honey
1 spoon lemon juice

How to make them:

Preparing those wonderful snacks is not hard at all and will only take you about 30 minutes.

Mix the oats, flakes, nuts, seeds and the coconut. Take the butter or margarine, honey and the lemon juice and boil it in a pot. Wait about 3-4 minutes until the mass starts to caramelize. Then slowly start to slowly fold the premixed ingredients and mix until you have a smooth and dark coloured dough. Prepare a baking tray with baking paper and apportion the mix until you have a plate of roughly 30x30cm (.....). After 15 minutes cut them in your prefered size. Wait until they are hard and enjoy.
